What is an API and how to get started

Updated over a year ago

What is API Integration?

API integration is the process of connecting two different software systems so that they can communicate with each other and exchange data. It's like having a translator between two people who speak different languages.

APIs provide a set of rules that define how different software systems can communicate and share data. When two systems are integrated using APIs, they can automatically exchange information without requiring manual intervention, which saves time and reduces errors.

With the Empiraa API, you can set up automations to pull data from your favorite platforms directly into your objectives in Empiraa. No more manual entry!

And don't worry, you don't need to be tech-savvy to set this up. We are using third-party automation tools like Zapier, PowerAutomate, Make, and Boomi to create connections between your chosen platforms. By putting in some initial work to set it all up, you can save yourself hundreds of hours down the track.

Zapier

Zapier is our chosen automation tool and is a very easy platform to use. We currently have a beta version of Empiraa available within Zapier.

You need the following invite only link to access the beta version of Empiraa within Zapier. Follow the link to get started.

Step 1

Follow the link above and either log in to Zapier or create an account if you're a first time visitor.

Step 2

You will come to the following page where you can click Accept Invite & Build a Zap.

Step 3

Now you have access to the full Zapier dashboard. To get started creating custom automations to Empiraa, click Create Zap.

From this point, you will go into creating specific automations. We have a heap of guides built out explaining exactly how to connect your favorite platforms so check out the suggested articles below.
