Creating a custom template allows you to replicate your strategy structure across multiple clients—without having to start from scratch every time. It’s especially helpful for consultants, advisors, or anyone using a repeatable planning framework.
Follow these steps to build your own custom template.
Step 1: Access Templates
Go to myPortal tab in the top menu bar and then go to the templates tab
You need to have the Collaborator access level to access the templates. If you cannot see the myPortal tab in the top menu bar go to the menu dropdown > user management > edit your user > change the access level to collaborator.
Only admins and collaborators can change access levels so if you cannot do this, get your account admin to do this for you.
You can create a template by cloning a pre-existing template or create your own from scratch. In this example we will create one from scratch.

2. Create Template
Click the create template button.
Name your template in the pop-up.
3. Set up the core elements of the template
You will be taken to the plan setup process that you will recognise from creating your original strategy in Empiraa. Essentially you are creating a plan that suits your structure that you can rinse and repeat for clients.
A. Branding
In the brand assets section, we recommend placing your brand colours and logo in the master logo section. Each client will then insert their logo into the sub account logo section. This will allow your brand to be consistent across all your clients' accounts and provide a whitelabelled product you are serving them.
B. Vision Statement
We have inserted a generic one in this template but you may choose to customise these for each client. You will have to enter something to continue.
C. Core Values
These can be changed at any time, but you may have default ones you apply to all your clients.
4. Set up your teams
Your will automatically be added as the one user in this template, you can add anyone else you want to have access to the template here.
Just add a default team because these will most likely be customised for each client.
5. Assign Yourself to the team
Assign yourself to the team you have created.
6. Create your goals
You can create from a template in this section but if you want this fully customised to your business, go through and create your goals from scratch on the left hand side.
7. Create your objectives
Once finishing the the plan setup you will be taken to myHub. You will see all your goals you have just made and now you can create your objectives that go against these goals.
When building your objectives and goals, whatever time frame you set for them will be maintained for new clients. For example, you create an objective that runs for 18 months. For new accounts from made that template, that objective will be dated 18 months from when it was created. This way you don't have to worry about templates expiring in time.
8. View and edit your templates
Now we have completed the template, you can view and edit it from the templates list at any time. If you edit the template after you have used it to create new accounts, those clients won't have their plans changed to the new format but all new accounts after the changes are made will be with the updated version.
